The seminar "Reimagining Education", part of the Equitable AI Series organized by Wofoo Social Enterprises and co-organized by Our Hong Kong Foundation and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, successfully took place on 4th December 2023. The event brought together local education and technology experts to explore how AI and blockchain are transforming education across different levels, from secondary schools to lifelong learning. Key discussions focused on trends like personalized learning and innovative credential systems, highlighting equitable solutions to empower Hong Kong's future generations.

Through insightful panel discussions and engaging conversations, participants gained valuable perspectives on how technology can drive more inclusive and accessible educational opportunities, shaping a brighter future for learners in Hong Kong.

As artificial intelligence and decentralized technologies were widely adopted in Hong Kong classrooms, it was important to ensure that their equitable integration benefited all students. Through constructive dialogue, our aim was to help reimagine learning opportunities that would benefit students across Hong Kong.

Recent pilots have demonstrated the potential of personalized learning and new credentialing systems to make education more accessible, engaging and relevant. However, without safeguards these new tools risk widening existing divides. We will therefore explore strategies for developing AI-driven solutions that are affordable, easy to use and deliver high-quality outcomes for all learners, regardless of background or ability level.

Panelists shared lessons from initiatives focused on inclusion, as well as frameworks for preparing Hong Kong's workforce with universally valuable skills. By considering opportunities, challenges and best practices, we aim to chart a path towards an education system empowered by emerging technologies, while guarding against new forms of inequity.
